Projects

Thanks to many people who care about the hall and have been generous with time, money, and expertise, in recent years we have accomplished an impressive array of building renovations. These include making all levels of the hall handicapped-accessible, improving ventilation and drainage, and bringing our kitchen up to code. Although our twin goals of making the hall accessible and keeping the building in good repair have gotten us into daunting projects with scary price tags, we know that with persistence, creativity, hard work, and good will, the difficult can be done—and we also know that work and fun are not mutually exclusive. Feel free to pitch in!

How you can help

Although we have made great strides in bringing our building into the 21st century, there remains much to do! Both the Grange and the Friends of the Grange would love to have you join them.

We also welcome help with financing our building projects. See our Donate page for more about how to contribute, or just click the handy yellow "Donate" button on the right to make a secure donation with Paypal.

What's next?

In time, we will get the building stabilized and can devote more of our resources to other worthwhile community endeavors. For now, though, our hall requires a lot of attention as we continue our ambitious renovations.

Building infrastructure
Current high priorities are re-installing woodwork and then assessing and improving the acoustics in the main hall. Next up after that: rewiring and insulating the dining room and inspecting the structural integrity of the dance floor from below.

Spring cleaning day
Every year we have a big workday cleaning party, usually on the Saturday of Mothers' Day weekend. Some of our dedicated regular renters, like the Boy Scout Troop, come out to help, and the Friends sponsor the event by supplying a pizza lunch for everyone. Look for it on our Events page as the time draws closer, and mark your calendar!
