to the Guiding Star Grange #1
Coming from the south on Rt 91 or from the west on Rt 2:
On Rt 91 take EXIT #26 to the rotary (Route 2 east enters the
rotary as well) take Rte 2A east toward Greenfield center. You
pass through 2 sets of lights in short order (the second has
a Dunkin' Donuts on your right). Continue STRAIGHT ascending
to MAIN ST. After about 1/2 mile turn LEFT onto CHAPMAN ST (after
Conway and Wells Sts). Travel a bit more than a mile to the
Guiding Star Grange - it's on the right just before the street
ends at Silver St.
Coming from the north on Rt 91 or from the east on Rt 2:
From Route 91 exit to Route 2 East towards Boston then take
your immediate first exit (It will be Rte 5 & 10). At the
exit take a right on 5 & 10 South. Travel south towards
Greenfield center and in less than a half mile you will come
to traffic lights with convenience stores on both far corners.
TURN RIGHT here onto SILVER ST. Travel about a mile. TURN LEFT
onto CHAPMAN ST. The second building on the left is the Guiding
Star Grange (401 Chapman).

Coming on Route 2 from the East:
Traveling west on Rt 2, begin to look for Route 63 South about
five miles west of the Erving Paper mill. In another mile or
so, you will see a small Rt. 63 sign on your right pointing
to Rt 63 on your LEFT. This is small, poorly lighted road entering
at an "11 o'clock" angle. Watching for traffic, turn
left here. Follow Rte. 63 through all the turns in Millers Falls
then continue about 5 miles on #63 until you see a small sign
"Montague Center" on the right. (*) Turn here and
travel 1 mile to the center of the town. At the stop sign you
will be at the town common. The grange is in view on the opposite
side of the common. *(If you see a sign for Rte 47 you have
passed the turn . In this case, turn right onto 47 for one block,
then right again, and follow this road to the village center,

Coming on Route 91 from the South:
Take exit 24 North. Right onto Routes 5 & 10 North at the
exit stop sign. Again take a nearly immediate right onto Route
116 South at the lights. Travel about 2 miles to the second
set of stoplights in Sunderland Center (you have just passed
over the Connecticut River). Take a left on Route 47 North and
travel about 4 miles. At one point Route 47 will turn right
after a sudden short downhill. Continue straight. There will
be a sign directing you straight to Montague Center. (If you
should follow Route 47 here it ends in one block at the junction
with Rte. 63). After one mile you enter the village of Montague
Center. When the road begins to veer to the left the grange
will be on your left and the town common – with the church
& clock – on your right.
